ART  DECO

c.1925 - 1940

Art Deco homes were a movement base mainly featured around applied decoration. Features include; highly stylised floral and sunrise patterns, bands of brick, canopies or copings that streched linear forms through the house and concrete blocky forms that are broken up by curved ornamental elements. Art Deco not only influenced architecture but fashion, art and design as well. Deco was a break in trend that saw the emergence of a new desgin that incorporated the beautiful art of the time as well as the structured precision of architecture.
