Californian Bungalow homes are more rustic in design than their predecessors. The style incorporates the idea of a simple style home in a natural setting. These humble homes are often single story and are built around a central hallway. Other characteristics include; polished floorboards, bull nose skirting boards, timber doors, architraves and timber windows  with dark tones. Outside you will see street facing shingled gables, red brick or rendered verandah piers and rendered or weatherboard exterior walls.
