Arthur of Period Wardrobes added beauty, functionality and value to our 1880's built home in Port Melbourne. We had an idea of what we wanted, but Arthur and the team provided their expert eye and advice and the outcome is perfection.
The service:
There was nothing mundane or rehearsed about the experience. It felt personalised and I was provided photo updates all throughout. The team are truly passionate about what they do and are perfectionists in both their workmanship and customer service. Des responded to my initial enquiry without delay and the start to finish process was effortlessly efficient.

I found Period Wardrobes after a quick Google search - we were desperate for storage in our new house which has none. I wanted a style to complement the house (Victorian terrace built in 1880) and knew instantly that Arthur was the one for the job. Arthur and Des personally came to our house, took measurements and came up with the bespoke designs for us. They stayed in constant communication every step of the way up until our installation. The craftsmanship, attention to detail and genuine care that Arthur, Des and the team showed our house was so appreciated.
We are completely in awe and in love with our 6-door built in robe in our master bedroom and the bookshelf units on either side of our fireplace in our downstairs office. We know they’re the highest quality and will last a lifetime. As we value our books and our clothes so much, it’s only fitting we store them in the best of ways and this has exceeded all of our expectations.
From manoeuvring a very tight and steep staircase to recommending the best brass knobs for our cabinets, no detail was missed. Arthur and his team were so efficient and had it all installed in just a few hours - completely customised to our preferences. We’re so incredibly grateful, you’ve absolutely transformed our house in the best of ways. Thank you so much to Arthur, Des and the team - we’re overjoyed with your work. We recently used Athur and the team at Period Wardrobes at our house in Hawthorn. We sought multiple quotes from multiple people but right from the beginning, Arthur was the most responsive and passionate about what we were trying to achieve. We were referred to Arthur by a happy customer of Period Wardrobes. We were preparing our house for auction and wanted wardrobes to suit our 11 foot ceilings. Although Arthur was extremely busy, he was able to design and install wardrobes at fairly short notice to fit in with our auction time table. The result was beautifully constructed product with many clever design features. We also took his advice and used a referral to a professional painter.

We had three of Arthur's wardrobes installed in our new house (a Californian Bungalow) last year. We were so impressed with the wardrobes and with the customer service we received, which was incredibly professional and friendly (you have never met anyone as passionate about wardrobes as Arthur!) A friend had recommended the company to me and I initially stopped by the Fawkner factory showroom unannounced. Arthur and his guys were hard at work but he stopped and showed me around. He then took the time to visit our home and talk through our needs while drawing up the wardrobe plans. The wardrobes were installed the day he said they would be and we were extremely happy with the standard of work and the price, which was very reasonable.
